The new blog: who knows it exists?

I have new posts on Lifeschool blog, the most recent one is The patient, calming and adorable garden neighbor cucumber

I was getting ready for this new blog for a long time. I was quite disappointed because I only later was able to find out that one blogger can have only one account, meaning one blog is the primary which is the art blog, and subsequently it will be very difficult to get people to even see this new blog because it will appear on all comments and likes as this primary site. Therefore, I’d appreciate people who find interesting my primary blog checked out and if interested followed the other Lifeschool blog. Unfortunately, WordPress will charge you for the new domain name and for theme and everything associated, but the other blog/s will only be some kind of attachment to the main or primary blog. I simply wanted to keep art matters separate from life matters, but as I found out, it hardly makes any sense because it’s virtually impossible to direct traffic there, unless I would switch these blogs places, but I’m not interested to do so at the moment.

When I announced the other blog for the first time, many fellow bloggers simply clicked on “like”, most likely from the Reader, and they never read the body of the post. If that happens again again, oh well, I at least tried to something about the situation.

2 pictures from the other blog, there are lots of them, and I work hard and make professional setups for picture taking, so, please try to stop by!

From the first likes I can see, it’s happening for the second time: nobody clicks on links, but follows and likes this blog. Well, thanks for the follow, but this seems to be incurable: nobody has time to read any single line. I still hope, at least somebody pays attention!!!

My rainy day sketches and paintings sparkle with light, and we have finally summer weather

The weather has been very unpredictable. Since I am always drawing and painting only from life and using real objects, that was quite upsetting. I did not get all depressed, but moved on as much as I could.

For time saving purposes, I am sometimes outlining and drawing with black pen. I do not have to use glasses that way which is great because glasses can destroy proportions and my visual perception.

I hope you will share my pleasure about these simple sketches of plants, flowers and birds.

One old friend presented me with sweet peas, so these found their reflexion in a simple sketch.

Apples were growing in the sister’s garden, so were the red currants.

I was very happy also that I finally obtained the St. Petersburg watercolor set. I wanted these paints ever since I was a small kid when I saw one artist painting with them. I got them now at the age of 55, actually my birthday is just some weeks away, so it’s a nice birthday gift for myself. These paints are said to be the best in the world just because they are made of the purest and best really natural ingredients.

Supposedly the best watercolor paints ever

My improvised painting desk

My improvised painting desk is very small, and I had no table or desk at some moments, as well

I am also typing on computer which is missing the key for the letter “d”, and I am using one end of my brush as a pointer to get this letter typed. Well, one should not complain about anything which is offered because it is always better to have something than nothing.

The sun is beating down today, so we are having some Mexico weather this week. Isn’t that crazy how I was freezing in my leather coat just a week ago, and it is advisable to wear nothing more than a swimming suit at the moment? Too bad, no swimming pool anywhere here, but I suppose, I can survive that, too!

I am a child of the sun, my sign is leo, and this immediately changes my inner settings. I don’t care how hot it gets, whenever it is sunny, I am happy.

I was drawing today, as well, those works still need some touch, and I intent to publish them some time later in the week.

I would love to express the hugest THANK YOU to all those fellow bloggers, friends and students who did not stop encouraging me during the bad weather period and are still following my trip to Europe, Latvia.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICES AND ASSISTANCE!

The older folks may still remember the fantastic song by Al Bano and Romina Power Liberta. Radio was playing it as I typed. My mood goes up to the sky! What a song! What a summer!

Happy Mother’s Day to Every Mom on the Globe

I’m on one side of this globe, my mom is on the other. We talk on the phone, and we meet in person every two years. The distance does not scare me as long as I know, I will hear her happy voice on the other end when calling. The best thing is to know that my mom IS THERE. She is going to be 82 this fall, and I hope to meet her around that time.

My mom: 80th birthday

We have one celebration in Latvia, that I’m missing here, in Canada. This day is called Angel’s day or Name’s day. My mom’s name is Irena, and her Name’s day falls together with Mother’s day this year. So, this is a nice reason for double greetings.

The older I’m getting, the more I have started to understand and appreciate my mother and everything she has done for me. I notice more and more features we have in common. I sometimes catch myself acting exactly the way she always is.

There are 2 grandmothers, 3 mothers, 2 daughters and 3 granchildren in this family. How do you think, how many are we? (Answer at the end)

My daughter, my mom and me during their stay in Canada

Too bad, we are never expressing and showing enough love, respect and appreciation to some person while that person is still around. I am never regretting things I have done, things I haven’t done, money I have spent, time I have wasted, but I will always regret I did not say my dad how much I cared about him and how much I loved him while it was still possible. He has passed away now, and there won’t be any more opportunities to do that.

That’s why I’m calling my mom as often as I can, I’m saying her all the best words I am able to find, and I’m showing her how much I care.

White lilies are my mom’s most favorite flowers. I was painting this pastel, and many memories came to my mind, and many good thoughts were implemented in this painting.

This for you, mom!

Happy Mother’s day!

I wish, every mother on this planet experienced some time how much loved, appreciated and honoured she is.

Happy Mother’s day to all Mothers!
