Classes and Workshops: Schedule

Please scroll down for the contact form/application form for classes

To find out driving directions, see us on Google map or check out website, google Art plus Life, Whitby Ontario

I have extensive teaching experience (more than 35 years), great tutoring skills and remarkable painting and drawing skills (40+ years). I have Master’s degree in Arts, Education and Psychology.

CLASSES ARE PROJECT BASED.  CLASSES provide with lots of insight and are a learning experience. We are exploring all aspects from subject, composition, colors, textures to secrets of color mixing, values and their importance to eventually perfect our painting skills. Most projects take 2 weeks. You will enjoy lots of attention and experience very individualized instruction whether you are an absolute beginner or somebody who has been painting before. CLASSES are not crowded: 5 to 8 students at a time.

WORKSHOPS are marked specially, and there is a difference: during workshop, we are painting one particular image start to finish. We usually have people who have never painted before and also students who have attended other or our classes. WORKSHOP deals with specific set of approach and explores specific subject, theme, composition, colors and effects.

We always have returning students, therefore, WE NEVER REPEAT ANY PAINTING. For this reason, I cannot post finished paintings before each class since we create them from scratch and I paint everything step-by-step with students. We always create very personalized paintings which do not look like copies of each other.

BEGINNERS and NEW STUDENTS: you can sign up for month (sessions of 4 classes), payment upfront via Interac, Paypal (covering reception fee which is  approximately $3) or cash. Taxes are included.

I would also advise to have your own materials because it is VERY helpful. We explore our tools and supplies along the way. It is a great advantage to know ahead how your paints, brushes, papers and canvas work since every brand of paints, every paper and every brush works differently.

Each class is 2 hours. Every project will most often take 2 weeks.

    • You’d be very welcome! Our main goal is not technical perfection, but emotional impact. We are trying to put in these paintings our feelings and a bit of our heart, in every single one.

      • That’s a very good idea since there is always something for everybody! I will not limit myself to purely art classes, but go beyond these and implement some personal fix-up and improvement workshops and seminars! I followed your Facebook page, too, I have a page, as well, and I posted a link on your page. Have fun with your trips!

      • Students have different priorities and I am trying to implement various options, still there are limitations including indoor space and timing for outdoor painting, use of materials and similar.

      • Sounds very similar to teaching school. I use very similar strategies with my students (minus the outdoor painting). Although I did teach art to grade 3 students for one semester one year and it was great fun. We painted using the primary colours.

      • Well, my goal is to make a decent school of art and style out of this. I intend to implement the life style and personal style theme in one more blog. I will have to wait until I get home, though. In my opinion, personal style is what so many Canadian women are lacking. Any arrangement in my classes pretty much depends on people who have applied for the particular course or class. I’ve never worked with very young kids, mostly with teens 15, 16 + and adults for about 30 years in total. Groups sometimes were consisting of approx. 30-35 students, so my own classes (6-8 students) are easy to manage. This also allows implementing plenty of personal approach and individualized teaching.

Classes with Inez have been very informative and super fun! I have enjoyed my experience in her art studio, which offers a very inspiring atmosphere. Inez has helped me discover my own inner creativity in a new way, and I have truly found her classes rewarding and fun. I am looking forward to the next sessions.
    Thanks so much Inez

  4. This is a great site, I love the work you do with the youngsters, your tuition has paid off in dividends when you see the work in the class gallery. I teach in various village halls etc.. which means its difficult to get a studio feeling. It must be great to have a place set up for teaching.
Super site, super work well done. Yvette, Cornwall, UK.

    • Thanks Yvette! I agree, it is very fortunate to have a special place because it is not always possible neither to transport, nor to take with me all materials I’d need, nor references, etc. The only thing is that this place very quickly has become a bit tight. However, there’s nothing wrong with a class size between 5-6. Good luck with your projects and thank you so much for stopping by here!

  5. My car boot is jam packed to the gunnels of art materials and equipment which gets carted in and out of halls. If I have a space at home then that too would quickly get filled too. So I know what you mean.

    • That’s true, we need a lot of different materials. I also think it is possible to give good demos when everything is prepared because the time frame is small (students need to get started ASAP), and it also takes a lot of experience to handle different students with distinctive interests.
