Studio sale
I have created quite a few new large size artworks for my studio sale event on December 8th. I do it every year, and the attendance is usually not crows, but some people come. A couple bought one of my large fall paintings. That was wonderful because this painting was created using a lot of texture and color transitions. It just proves that this type of art is very appealing and people love it. I could have probably created even more textured artworks because they always look stunning, especially when seeing in person.
New art classes, old chores
I haven’t been posting much recently, and there is certainly a reason for that. I was busy advertising my art classes after I moved the studio to another location, and that takes so much time and efforts. I have had quite a lot success so far because I believe potential students realized soon that this is a studio where they can really learn something new. That is very flattering and I appreciate the huge interest. It looks like January and February classes will be well attended.
Some years are just not that good
This year started out on a promising note, but it had prepared some unexpected challenges. The necessity to move house and studio was a huge problem, but my trip to Latvia was fantastic as it always is. I am waiting for the end of this year, nevertheless. It’s hard to admit, but nothing can replace wasted time, and I am extremely considerate about wasting even a minute. I once wrote how I measure the time flow by accomplishments. I wish this year had more accomplishments.
New types of paintings
This is a year when I created less new paintings than I expected, but more new types of paintings, I added a lot of figures, imaginative characters, many still life and floral paintings. I will post these paintings as soon as I get time. I know there is no excuse for posting that few articles. The truth is that my art and creations take a lot of time: weeks, sometimes months. When I have finished a painting, I need to make time for taking pictures. Then I take pictures, and there is no time to post them, and so it goes.
New images of new art
These are the images of new mixed media works, it took me couple of weeks to get them done, and they look amazing. I think colors came out just wonderful. I regret I can post only pictures because the actual works look really very attractive. I create something better and better every year and I’m very happy about that.
Mixed media works can really take long time, but they look stunning
I also added numerous layers of paint, although it is not that visible on a photo. All works are 3-dimensional
All of these artworks are 20 x 24 inches in size, about 5 inches thick, therefore, I would offer them rather locally because shipping would be very problematic
The look is very festive and colors look beautiful with lights on or off
New art for kids
I have created beautiful snowman and gnome characters and they are large and came out very nice, but I hope posting them some other day. You can find them on Fine Art America site, there is a special collection ” Art for kids”. All of these paintings and many more are available during my studio sale event. I had to post an update not to lose all my blogging friends. Enjoy!
Congratulations Inese on getting things organized…especially your classes…. I know whoever takes them will be know a lot more than they did prior to your teaching Diane
Thanks Diane! Recently things have been not that smooth healthwise, I had a slip and fall accident and I am now recovering. It was quite bad, but it’s getting better now. I got home care and they helped me a lot. So, New Year will start better since I had to skip Christmas.
I hope your health is acceptable and you are having nice holidays! Happy New Year!
So sorry to hear that Inese… after all you’ve been through… but glad you’re improving… Take care.. and Happy New Year to you too… xx
It’s hard to say, maybe even the slippers I was wearing were not that reliable. I suppose, that can happen to anybody. Well, I will get through anything, right? I am much much better now than I was even a week ago.
Happy New Year Diana!
I actually consider myself very lucky. No worries, it will pass.
Merry Christmas Inese and a Happy and Peaceful New Year!
Thanks so much Chris! I am recovering and I am looking forward to start painting again. Happy New Year to you, too!
Beautiful work, as always, Inese. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019!
Thanks so much! I was all the way in bed, and I have started to walk slowly now. I am getting better, but we had to skip Christmas completely. I hope New Year has better things for me. Happy New Year!
Beautiful works, Inese. I so love Christmas decorations.
Thanks, Inese! I usually have everything including a tree and so on. I fall on the stairs and I had to skip Christmas, but it is getting better now, I can already walk, etc. I hope the New Year is nicer to me. Happy New Year!
Oh hope you get better soon and the new year is kind to you. This one was quite challenging. Happy 2019!
I am getting better, it’s been 2 weeks and I am already more ok. I have home care nurses and a lot of help from family and friends. I hope we can go to New Year’s countdown in Toronto. It is still 2 days for me to strengthen myself. Such a silly accident. I wanted Christmas tree, but since I could not put it up or decorate, I survived without one. I believe you had a tree, right? Oh well, you know, I think the New Year is going to be way better. I will soon post something, so much want to, but I was too dizzy to type. Everything will be better. Once again, happy New Year to you also!
Thank you Inese! This accident was the last thing you needed. How long it takes to go to Toronto? Hope you are comfortable in the car.
My Christmas tree is very symbolic – 10 inches tall 🙂 I will keep it on until the January 6 – Nollaig na mBea.
Toronto is about 50 km which is supposed to be very close here. It will depend on the weather, too, if it is very cold, I’d rather stay at home.
We also usually kept tree until January 6, Zvaigznes diena.
That’s right 🙂 Zvaigznes Diena.
Hope you have a delightful trip. Laimigu Jauno Gadu!
We went to Toronto to watch fireworks. It was raining abnormally, but there were literary many thousands of people. I hope to feel better maybe tomorrow so that I can post something. I hope you had a lovely New Year’s Eve and I hope 2019 is a great year for you. And me. And maybe it is good for many people who were not that fine in 2018.
Thank you! Yes, 2018 wasn’t exactly stellar for many people. Hope 2019 is good globally – then we will tag along 🙂 I have read that it is a year of countless opportunities, and all depends on ourselves. I just pray for good health, basically.
I hope we can use these opportunities!
I too hope so 🙂
If the health is acceptable, I cannot see why that wouldn’t come true.
Exactly. Health opens many doors.
That was my biggest issue in the past, but I won’t allow that happen in the future.
Life its like a constant rush, we rush to do this, we rush to finish that, we rush to meet a deadline, we rush to prepare a meal, or clean house, we rush to get to work, or come home, rushing is endless..!
Sorry to hear about you fall, hope you recover soon.
Blessings, and hope your goals for the New year, may come true, Inese. 🙂
Life might be rush, but I am taking everything slowly at the moment. I think I am over all insane rushing. I am better, getting better every day. I am so happy being able to do something again. It is going to be a better year. I pretty much know it, I can feel it.
Happy New Year to you and let us stay in touch!
I am glad you feel that way, most people forget that it’s not what happen to us that is well, bad… but our attitude towards it that is worst!
Keep feeling that way Inese. 🙂
Thanks! I’ve got this new theory about the friendly universe which wishes me well, so, I’m sticking to that.
Hi Inese, how wonderful to hear that your studio is busy as people start to see what they can learn there! I am glad your trip to Latvia was a nice one too. I hope your first two months of 2019 have been good to you xo
Thanks Christy!
Everything will return to normal after a while. I’m not there yet, but I hope as the spring comes along, it will feel easier.
